USA today: USA Today is a national American daily newspaper founded by Allen Neuharth in 1982 and published by the Gannett Company. The newspaper is based in Tysons Corner, Virginia. The newspaper competes with the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) to regain the lead for widest circulation of any newspaper in the United States, a record USA Today had held for some time after 2003. According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) of North America, the circulation of USA Today reached 1.8 million copies daily in March 2010 compared to 2.1 million for the WSJ; as a matter of fact, the latter figure includes 400,000 paid-up subscribers to the WSJ's online newspaper. USA Today is the print newspaper with the widest circulation in the United States. USA Today is distributed throughout the fifty US states and District of Columbia, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the United Kingdom. |
