You can now book a hotel room with your smartphone

| The Dallas based hotel chain La Quinta feels that credit card stands in their way of getting more hotel reservations, especially from the concerns of multitasking travelers. The strategy is the most significant of the changes that the hotel chain has adopted ever since its mobile site launched way back in 2007.
The hotel chain which operates in more than 46 states at 800 locations, along with Mexico and Canada would now allow travelers to reserve a room on their iPhone or Android phone by simply entering their telephone number. The official statement said that it was to let travelers make reservation the faster way. This 'Instant Hold' function, efficient in booking a room for four hours, is now available on the mobile version of LQ.com. It is scheduled to appear on the iPhone and Android applications later this month. The function eliminates the hassle every time a traveler has to make a hotel reservation. Apart from being the first of its kind to adopt phone strategy, the hotel chain can now pride in itself for being unique, by adding independent TripAdvisor reviews on the mobile site. |
