Pagani: Pagani is an Italian manufacturer of carbon fiber; and of sports cars in small series. The company was founded in 1992 by Horacio Pagani, and is based in San Cesario sul Panaro near Modena. The Zonda (“Wind of the Andes,” in honor of legendary Formula 1 champion Juan Manuel Fangio), the company’s only car model, is propelled by mid-mounted V-12 DOHC engines manufactured by the AMG division of Mercedes-Benz. The car’s inspiration was drawn from jet-fighter aircraft and the celebrated Sauber-Mercedes Silver Arrow Group C cars. The Zonda features unique design elements, such as a circular four-pipe exhaust. |
