Agent Provocateur: Agent Provocateur is a lingerie retailer that was founded in England in 1994 by Joseph Corré and Serena Rees. The company came into existence after Serena Rees, tired of seeing women dress in dull under garments, decided to start a lingerie store that would sell colorful and fashion forward lingerie. The couple opened their first store on Broadwick Street, in London's Soho district, with intentions of selling the best lingerie from around the world. Having trouble finding enough of what they liked, Corré and Rees decided instead to create their own brand. Today, Agent Provocateur has over 30 stores in 13 countries. In 2007, Agent Provocateur was acquired by 3i, a private equity house, for £60 million. The company is currently run by Garry Hogarth. |

La Perla: La Perla is a leading lingerie and swimwear brand. It was conceived in Bologna, Italy by Ada Masotti under the leadership of her son Alberto Masotti. It started in 1954 as corsetry laboratory and took its name from the jewel lined, red velvet cases in which their first products were delivered. In 1971, the La Perla beach-wear brand was introduced and the following years saw a shift in the style of lingerie towards showing off more lace, silk and transparency. In 1986, La Perla's first perfume was launched and in 2002, the La Perla prêt-à-porter collection debuted in Milan. The next year, in 2003, the La Perla black labels brand was launched, offering a special line of corsetry and “sexy- chic” products. |
